Exerpt from the story:
"The princess grew to be very beautiful. The king banned all spinning wheels and spindles. And the wicked fairy's spell was quite forgotten until the day of the princess's sixteenth birthday.
The princess was wandering through the castle when she found a winding staircase she had not seen before. When she reached the top she found an old woman in a small room spinning. She was amused by the spinning wheel. She wanted to try. And when the old woman let her she pricked her finger and fell to the ground. The horrified old woman called for help. People came running, but no one could revive the princess. The king had the princess put in a great bed. When the young fairy saw the sleeping princess she decided to cast a spell on the rest of the kingdom so they would all sleep for a hundred years and be together when the spell was broken..."
