Exerpt from the story:
"Thinking about the second race the tortoise decided that he needed to change the course to suit his strengths. He challenged the hare to another race on a different course. The hare accepted and this time the course was set to go down the hill and across the river to the finish line.
When the hare got to the river she was still trying to figure out how to cross it when the tortoise climbed in and swam across to cross the finish line. When the hare finally found a way across to get the end of the race the tortoise shook his hand and said, “Fast and consistent may beat slow and steady, but you will always win when you play to your strengths.”
After three races the tortoise and the hare had become great friends. Together they decided they would run the race one last time. However, this time they decided to work together. The hare carried to tortoise to the river. The tortoise carried the hare on his back as he swam across the river. And the hare crossed the finish line with the tortoise on his back. The tortoise and the hare finally learned that it is wonderful to have strengths, but we do much better when we share those strengths and work together to win the race."
